A few things
to know.
Which skip size do I need?
Start with the type and amount of waste. 4–8 yard skips suit smaller household projects. 12–16 yard skips suit bulky, lighter waste. For major site clearances, ask about 20–40 yard RORO containers. Call us if you are unsure.
Can my skip go on the road?
You need permission from the local highway authority for a skip on the highway or a public place. Urban can arrange a permit at an additional cost. Tell the team where the skip will go when requesting your quote.
What can’t go in a skip?
Asbestos, fridges, freezers, televisions, monitors, tyres, fluorescent or sodium lamps, gas cylinders, plasterboard and hazardous waste require prior written agreement. Check with the team before loading anything you are unsure about.
How long can I keep it?
The published hire terms state a maximum of 7 days for cash customers and 28 days for account customers. You must request collection. Confirm your hire period when booking; additional rental charges can apply.
How full can I load my skip?
Keep the load level with the sides. Overloading can lead to extra charges or a refused collection. Larger skips have weight restrictions; do not put heavy soil, rubble or concrete in a 12–16 yard skip.
